A recent presentation on the results of the pilots for a district learning management system (LMS) and laptops to support the 1-1 initiative at the high school can be found and viewed in the 'Presentations on Curriculum Initiative' file in the below Useful Information and Documents Section. The Schoology LMS and HP Elitebook 820 i5 were recommended by faculty and administration through a committee process.

The mathematics workshop will provide parents with information on accessing the EDM4 on-line math games/resources and strategies to help your child as a mathematician. The language arts literacy workshop will provide parents with an overview of the elementary literacy curriculum and strategies for supporting your child as a reader and writer.

K-5 Everyday Math Family Login Instructions
Welcome back to school !!
Our teachers encourage families of elementary students to explore and use the digital Everyday Math Student Learning Center. This is a digital resource for students which include interactive lesson activities to access assignments on-line, play virtual math games, collaborate with classmates on math learning activities, access the Student Reference Book (grades 3-6) and Home Links, and view family letters. In the below useful information section, please find the EDM4 file to access the Quick Start Guide for login instructions. Please contact your child's teacher for specific passwords and access codes.
September 2nd Inservice Day - Welcome back!!
In addition to the September 1st Convocation with the Superintendent, district faculty will participate in a number of staff development workshops on September 2nd. to discuss the completed summer curriculum work and prepare for the new school year. MS and HS Principals will inform their staff of the location of these specific workshops. The schools throughout the district have been conducting magical concerts with opportunities for gifted vocalists and musicians to perform solo pieces. Additionally, our fine arts programs have been beautifying the school hallways with artwork by our talented students. NJDOE Announces New Website for Parents on PARCC
The NJDOE recently announced the development of a new website designed to help parents and guardians to better understand the PARCC. The website, Be A Learning Hero, provides video clips on how parents can interpret Individual Student Report (ISR) for their child. ISRs are expected to be released within the next several weeks. The website also provides resources for parents to support their child's learning and academic performance. The website can be found at: www.bealearninghero.org
The NJDOE recently launched another new website to help parents understand the results of their child's PARCC results. That website is www.understandthescore.org
K-6 Curriculum Expectations Brochures for 2016-17
During the summer, a team of middle school teachers worked together to expand the grade level curriculum expectations brochures to include Grade 6. Last summer, teams of teachers created the grades K-5 brochures. The brochures reflect the essential skills students will learn by the end of the school year based on the district curriculum and grade level benchmarks. The brochures can be found in the below Useful Information and Documents section of this website in a file entitled Curriculum Expectations Brochures.
The Office of Curriculum and Instruction will be in full operation between 9 AM-4 PM during the summer as teachers participate in curriculum writing workshops and new faculty orientation in preparation for the new school year. We wish the Glen Rock Community a happy and safe summer!
